How We Count: Speakeasy Mastermind Network Statistics

Data snapshot: October 2026

Next refresh: December 2026

Owner: Speakeasy Data & Analytics Team

The numbers on our site are aggregate figures about the Speakeasy Mastermind network. This page explains what each one means, where it comes from, what it includes and excludes, and how often we update it. We never publish individual member information.

27+ Live and Launching Chapters

What it means: 21 live chapters plus 6 launching chapters, as of October 2026.

  • Live chapter: a city chapter led by an appointed City Captain. It has been launched with internal and external promotion and holds regular monthly meetings.
  • Launching chapter: a city chapter with an appointed City Captain and founding members, scheduled to launch within the next six months.

Excluded: cities still being explored, cities without an appointed City Captain, and chapters that have been paused or closed.

592+ Curated Entrepreneurs

What it means: City Captains and active paying members, as of October 2026. Our City Captains, leadership team or membership team vetted and qualified every one of them.

Who counts as an entrepreneur: an established business owner, founder or CEO who meets our membership guidelines. Most members:

  • lead a business with at least $1 million in annual gross revenue, or
  • earn at least $250,000 a year in personal income as a solopreneur, or
  • have recently built and exited a significant company.

These are guideposts, not the only factors. We also consider each person's experience, accomplishments, growth trajectory, mindset and potential contribution to the group.

Excluded: prospects, guests attending a complimentary first meeting, lapsed or cancelled members, staff who aren't members, and duplicate records.

$1.3B+ Annual Revenue Represented

What it means: the sum of the annual gross revenue of the businesses our current members lead.

How it's collected: each member shares their business's annual revenue during onboarding. This happens in qualification interviews with our Membership Director or membership team, and/or with their chapter's City Captain. We record the figure in our membership CRM.

How it's counted

  • Current members only. When a member leaves, their revenue is removed, so this figure always matches the 592+ member count.
  • Each company counted once. When co-owners of the same company are both members, that company's revenue is counted once.
  • As reported at onboarding. Figures are not updated after onboarding, so a long-time member's figure reflects their revenue when they joined.

Important limits: these figures are self-reported by members and reviewed during qualification. They are not independently audited.

Excluded: members with no reported revenue figure, solopreneur personal income, and exit proceeds.

35k+ Business Connections

What it means: the number of impactful member-to-member connections that began through Speakeasy since 2023.

How it's calculated

  • What counts as a connection: two people have a direct, substantive interaction that began through Speakeasy.
  • Counted once: each pair is counted once, at its first qualifying interaction, even if they meet again or later do business together.
  • Categorized by source: each connection is categorized by its first Speakeasy source, such as an in-person chapter meeting, an online or virtual event, or an annual gathering.
  • Deduplicated: documented connections are deduplicated by person IDs.
  • Estimated where records are incomplete: where historical records are incomplete, we estimate additional connections from a weighted sample of members and former members, using member-years to account for membership changes.
  • Opportunities reported separately: event-based opportunities, meaning chances to connect at an event, are reported separately from completed connections.

Source: our membership CRM, plus Headquarters data-tracking sheets for special virtual events and annual events.

Important limits: part of this figure is an estimate, and it includes connections made by people who are no longer members. A connection shows that two people had a substantive interaction; it doesn't measure the strength of the relationship or any business done.

How We Keep These Numbers Accurate

  • The Speakeasy Data & Analytics Team refreshes every statistic every two months.
  • Each update is dated at the top of this page.
  • When a number changes, we update it everywhere it appears at the same time: this page, the home page, every chapter page, and our press and media materials.
  • We round published figures down and add "+", so they never overstate the snapshot.

It Started With One Room.

2008

One room in San Diego

Speakeasy began in San Diego in 2008 with a simple idea: bring great entrepreneurs together around a table and create the kind of conversations we wished existed everywhere else.

2022

The first new chapters.

What started with Eric Berman, Glen Ledwell, Rob Poling, John Assaraf, Darren Hardy, Mike Koenigs, and a small circle of successful entrepreneurs became something special. Members shared openly. Problems were solved. Introductions were made. Friendships formed.

And visiting entrepreneurs kept asking us…

“When are you bringing this to my city?”

So we did.

TODAY

16+ chapters.

540+ entrepreneurs.

Today, that original table has grown into a global network of curated entrepreneurs  built around the same belief that started it all:

Put the right people in the right room, and extraordinary things happen.

We put high-caliber entrepreneurs in the right room so they can grow faster, make better decisions, and never build alone.
